2009-2010 Plowing Update

OK, we're off to a much better start this season! We've had two successful plowing events so far.

Our contractor is working out very well, getting out there within a reasonable timeframe and getting the snow off as best as we could expect. Volunteers are helping out to shovel out around the gates and bollards that can't be removed, as the plow has to lift its blade to get around them. Thanks to all the contributors and volunteers for your generosity and patience. Thanks to the Town of Lexington and DPW for assisting in making this private arrangement possible.

Kudos on the plowing this year-- it's really a huge difference compared to last year. Please keep up the good work!

Yeah, it's great, I got to fly home from work yesterday on the path. No Mass Ave! The clean white snow is so pretty.
Others were using the path too... I passed an outbound bicyclist near the lexington recycling center, and a couple pedestrians and even an XC skier skiing on the same surface I was biking! [1/2inch hard pack] Actually the skier was in Arlington but there were faint XC tracks in Lex as well.

I agree, the Bikeway plowing this year is commendable - a huge difference over last. The regular traffic on the path makes for true, all-seasons recreational transit.
